1

Choose A Platform

Build your organic audience

The very first thing you want to do is choose a platform. It should be a corner of the internet you carve.

You have to be thoughtful when you choose a platform like Facebook, X(Twitter) or LinkedIn.

Every platform has some plus points and some things that the other lacks.

If you ask me, X and LinkedIn are better if you’re starting out. Because there are fewer people using these platforms.

Also, stick to one platform only. I repeat, do not think of handling multiple platforms when you’re starting out. Work on one first, then move to the other one.

Once you’re done choosing, create an account. Here you will build your ideal audience.

Niche-down Yourself

Be specific, not generic

If you post one type of content one time and another type of content the next, you’re going to fail drastically.

Let your audience know you for something special. Talk about relevant things. Sure, add humor, your own personality and unique angles. But keep your posts centered to one bigger theme.

For example: If you’re a copywriter and your goal is to send your audience a book on copywriting, what will you do?

You’ll post about Copywriting, you would solve problems copywriters face, and you build authenticity and authority, overtime.

3

Build Your Own System

Play smart, not hard

For building a strong system that doesn’t fluctuate, you need a network to start with. Here’s how you can do it:

Find Your Own Tribe

Being on a social media platform isn’t all about scrolling and posting. It’s about engaging too. Your network is your biggest strength on any social media platform.

That’s why I said that managing more than one platform can be very hectic. You should only focus on one.

Tips For Building a Solid Network:
• Go to others’ posts that resonate with you.
• Comment with the intention of adding value.
• Make those people notice you.
• Slide into their DMs by adding something personal.
• Talk to them, improve together.
• Don’t be shy, make friends.

Finding The Pain Points

Talking to your audience is the key to finding out what they want. Send Dms and hop on calls with creators. Know what your prospects face. Solve their problems. Build trust.

Once you’re done with a few calls, sit down and analyze:

  • What’s a common challenge that everybody is facing?
  • What’s holding people back?
  • What’s something I get ask over and over again?

Answers to these questions should let you set your priorities. They will also give you the clarity you need to move forward. Gather all those questions and make a system that can work for a broader audience.

Remember, the system should include everything your audience wants to learn.

Don’t Be Mysterious

Let them see through you

Imagine you get a text from an unknown number. The text says, “Please tell me your deepest traumas.”

What will you do?

You’ll either laugh it away and ignore it, or you’ll be filled with anger. There’s no way on earth you’re going to reveal something that personal to a stranger.

Also, if somebody keeps asking things from you, but never shares something from his own life, you’d still feel sus.

Why? Because there’s no trust. Neither in the first, nor in the second case.

It works the same way on social media. You need to tell people something about yourself to gain their trust.

5

Build Your Online Persona:

Let them remember you

World has become a global village. No one’s going to buy from you if they don’t trust you. They won’t tell you their problems if they can’t relate with you.

So what’s to be done? Just share your stories.

There can be three types of stories you can share:

  • Wins: Tell others how you’re not a scam, how you’re actually helping people.
  • Failures: Tell others you weren’t born perfect, you’re still learning. They will feel relatable.
  • Your daily life: You don’t have to put everything from your life on social media. But share the things that don’t disrupt your privacy. Give people a unique thing that they can only resonate with you.

For example, I know a creator. And he loves tractors, like he’s crazy for them. So, whenever I see tractors I think of him. Makes sense? Just give people something they can relate with you.

6

Build A Bridge

Connect the Shores

Consider your and your prospect’s mind two banks of a river. How do you connect? Build a bridge, simple!

But how exactly? That’s not difficult either.

Your ideal prospects need to be catered. You need to emphasize their emotions. And trust me, connections based on empathy and mutual understanding are very long lasting.

Finally, give them “aha” moments and make them believe that you’re the only solution to your problem. Tickle their fancy by showing them the solution you learned to their specific problem by experience.

7

Start Teaching Your Framework

Learn>Do>Teach

Once you’ve made your framework, and your system is ready to work, make it work. The trust is built, people are now looking for what you’ve got for them.

Make posts about your framework, make people notice it. Let it get mass attention and gather testimonials by people who use it.

8

Keep Your Framework Up To The Mark

Nothing less than Perfect!

Your work needs to be updated after every while. There are a few things you can do to always make sure to provide 200% value.

  • Always review content and make changes every few months.
  • Record short Loom videos to enhance the teaching process.
  • Focus on results and implementation.
  • At the end of every lesson, provide an action plan.

Importance of Action Plan

Your product isn’t the only product out there. People consume lots and lots of info today and then forget it.

Your content needs to make an impact. Give people all the reasons to take action.

Creating short exercises can help you achieve it. You can make people implement your ideas immediately after they’re done consuming them. This is the best way to keep them long lasting and fresh in their minds.

9

Direct People To Your Email List

Your email list is your owned audience

Email lists are the core of selling digital products. Imagine you’ve built an audience of 10k in one year and suddenly, your account gets suspended. What can you do about it?

This is why you need to have an email list, and direct your customers to your list.

But why would they want to join your list?

Because you’d show them the testimonials. I talked about testimonials above. This is the time you use them and attract your prospects, to convert them into buyers.

How To Create Your Email List

Having an email list might sound like a hefty task but setting one up is easy peasy.

ConvertKit and Substack are two platforms you can use to create your newsletter. It’s incredibly easy, read the following steps to find out the simple process.

  • Define your newsletter: The very first thing you need to do is to incorporate your niche into your newsletter. Decide your audience and channel your thoughts accordingly.
  • Sign up and Set up: You can simply go to ConvertKit or Substack and sign up. Fill in your name, bio and everything you need to add.
  • Create a content plan: You need to plan the frequency of your newsletter. Also, you’ll need to fill out the content plan so that you can schedule it.
  • Personalization: You need to add some kind of unique touch to your newsletter. Do it by adding format instructions or brand colors.
  • Collect Subscribers: Use a lead magnet to get people to subscribe to you.
  • Engage with your subscribers: You’d want to keep your subscribers engaged. for this purpose, ask questions and encourage them to reply to you.

Lastly, keep sharing free value for people in your email list. Over deliver your free products, so that they know your paid one won’t suck.

Conclusion

I just broke down how you can sell your digital products. I’ll again say, if you’re not consistent enough, if you don’t follow the instructions, this isn’t for you.

Sadly, people today believe that everything can be done in the snap of fingers. Yeah you surely can enjoy the freedom, but you first need to work for it.
